PEFA SUCCESS STORY
PEFA methodology is helping Teresina Municipal Government (PMT) to identify opportunities to improve Public Financial Management such as the adoption of an integrated budget and financial system. PMT methodology was applied in 2005 and in 2015 is performing a repeated evaluation.
The improvement of mechanisms has also enhanced PMT work on budget parts, such as the 2016 Budget Guidelines Law (LDO), recently sent to the City Council.
The evaluation has repeatedly provided opportunities to adopt good practices such as extensive discussion and search for a technical union among municipal, state and federal governments in exploring priority areas and actions to be included in the Multiyear Plan (PPA) of the municipality ( For more details click here).
