PEFA training events should be customized to the specific audience in each case. Whereas most courses need to touch on the same set of core content, the depth in which each subject is explored will depend on the participants’ expected roles and previous experience with PEFA assessments. It is recommended not to mix different kinds of audience, but rather to provide sequenced sessions to each of them where possible
A brief overview of the main topics for PEFA assessments is provided in a consolidated presentation click here
A comprehensive PEFA course for assessment managers or assessors should be planned for a duration of 2-3 days. A short course for high level decision makers may be limited to a half day.
We recommend that training sessions be limited to a maximum of about 30 participants and emphasize the use of work in small groups (of 4-6 participants) on study cases as one of the most effective ways of learning. Typically training delivered by the Secretariat allocates at least 50% of the course time to such exercises.
A standard set of PEFA training material is provided for registered users of this website; please go to the Home Page to log in or register. More specific material can be made available upon request for identified users, to the extent the Secretariat has such material available. The presentation by thematic modules is designed so that users may adapt this material to their own needs and audience. External users are requested to use their own logo for their presentations.
